Chassis VIN stamping P.I. work...

 

On C1 frames, VIN #'s were stamped on the drivers side, just across from the "X" frame

57 Chassis' were built/stamped at the A.O. Smith plant in Wisconsin

Rubber "pads" were placed in several locations, before the body was placed on the frame.

The VIN# should be in the approx. location of this pad.

Nothing there??

Starting to show up...

There it is!  And it matches the VIN.  ; )

First coat of semi-gloss black

Body Off

Removed the hood, and onto the rear deck lid

Off with the rear bumpers

Rear wiring harness disconnects (for license plate lights)

Removing body mount bolts

Some were easier than others!

Unbolting the windshield

Windshield is off

Last of the body bolts removed

Body dolly in place

8-man lift off.  Smooth as can be.

Onto the body dolly

The rolling chassis is back at our shop.  Lots to do!
