Seats & busted knuckles...

Seat bottom tag

Seat frame bolts wouldn't budge.

Bolts were rusted and tracks were frozen

Put on lots of Liquid Wrench...

Even so...bolt heads started to snap off

a few busted knuckles later, and they were finally out

A few things found under the seat (a crocodile hair clip and some sort of tool)

Seat frames are pretty rusted, but very salvageable

The slides are still stuck on both seat frames, but we'll get 'em moving

Mirror & Glass codes...

Removing side-view mirror

Mount plate is an original part #: 5946478 w/correct philips screws.
Note: base should use a black sealing pad (not tan).

Back of mirror should be stamped "GUIDE Y-50 MADE IN U.S.A."

No stampings on the back

As mentioned in a prior post, there should be no date code or manufacturer stampings.
This DMI stamping/date code is typical of C2 mirror glass.

Pass.-side door glass.  Code: NT = January, 1957

Driver-side door glass.  Code: JT = May, 1957

Pass.-side acrylic Plexiglas hardtop window. Looks like "5-7" (May '57)

Driver-side acrylic Plexiglas hardtop window. Looks like "6-7" (June '57)

Hardtop acrylic plastic (Plexiglas) rear window.
Can't make out date code 1-something.  Most likely a "1-7" for Jan. 57

Original 3736493 water pump

A little diversion today - pulled the 390 c.i. from my Dad's 59 Caddy

Now back to work, and onto the water pump removal.
Note: bottom of motor needs supported as water pump bolts hold the front engine support

water pump coming off...

Correct original #3736493 water pump

Some heavy corrosion inside

Sending it off Monday to Bill Mock for rebuild.

Exhaust manifolds w/surprise gifts

Passenger rear with shielding bracket and french lock

Passenger rear 2 bolts

Driver side manifold coming off (with acorns inside)

Ahhh, rat poop and ???

Exhuast port on block

Difficult to read, but this says "LH" 3733976
Judging guide says LH should be a 3733975, and "RH" is the 3733976.  Typo?

Again, appears to be 3733976 Left-hand exhaust manifold.
Need to wire brush it a bit for clarity.

Notice Exhaust heat riser attached to passenger manifold
