Heater box, heater core, blower motor removal

Time to start by removing the heater cover (w/flapper door)

That came off simply enough...and it's in amazing shape!

Passenger side foot-well.  Note corrosion on the Heater Control Valve

Blower motor

Nuts on the heater core needed some LiquidWrench and muscle

Top screw, securing the Heater Control Valve, was finally loosened.  The bottom one was too corroded.

Unfortunately, we had the "Dremel" the philips-head screw off.

Finally removed the Heater Control Valve

And the valve is completely frozen.  Hmmm...

Removing the blower motor assembly/heater core from under the dash

The Heater/Diffuser Box is made of pressboard and it was, unfortunately, brittle and crumbling.

What the ____???

We found this 1954 "D" penny inside the vent.
This coin needs to stay with the car!
